How far would you run on big water to throw at a single lay down. Burned 40 gallons a day at Texoma over the weekend. Literally ran from Burns Run to Brier Creek North and back to Burns Run to fish one lay down. And yes, it was worth it. 5 casts, one 4.90 largemouth, 5 more casts and gone.

We fished Texoma this weekend too and ran a lot but the wind allowed it. At 70 you can make a lot of big runs and not lose much time. From what we saw on the practice days 25+ mph wind from either direction and you aren’t going far on that lake.

Glad you had success. You ran past a ton more laydowns on your way there and back. North wind on Texoma sucks to try and navigate on long runs.

40 gallons for one 5lb fish...? I wish I had the willingness to burn all that fuel for one fish!

That's only 12 miles per pound.

Ran from Runaway Bay to past Wise Co Park in 20 MPH N wind on Bridgeport a week ago. 3 ft rollers and i got drenched. First time I've been cold since March. I fished from 9AM to late afternoon. It was well worth it after RayRob kicked my butt all summer. Got into em good with a spinner bait late and had to quit to get loaded before dark. Water was calm by 5. Hail yeah
