Took my 9 year old out for some fishing and camping this weekend. First time on the lake and it is much larger than I imagined! We launched at 0730 Sunday morning and finally got on some fish around 10:30 am. Water temp 73 degrees and bait everywhere in 10 foot of water. Crappie were found on brush piles in 13-15 foot of water. Had to be right down in the brush to get bit. We took a dozen minnows and did not catch 1 fish on the minnow pole. All fish caught on ATX lures wicked shad in Goldilocks color. Called it quits at 1:30 with some thick crappie.
