If you read some of the earlier posts, it details why I wrote this. But if you want to know what it has to do with feathered trailers, I worked with Triiton Mike Bucca in thelate 90's tying these things up. We were one of the first in America, to my knowledge to do this I have oer 20 years of experience tying them. I still tie for friends and family at $2.50 per hook. ; I tie all different kinds of colors, even PINK, if you want it. BUT, if you had read the whole post, it might have given you the reason I posted this. Or not, or should that be KNOT? LOL. Feathered hook tier for a generation, or over 20 years. Sorry to upset your apple cart, today.
Tight lines, keep safe and good luck.

We tied over 25000 hooks, so I MAY know a little about them, or not. Just a guess on my end.

Wow...…. guy wants to know about hook replacements and this thread goes slightly left over who made the first feathered trebles...……….. The irony for me is that two of the guys that I actually listen to when they talk/post got pulled in by one of the other guys that I've enjoyed reading his stuff..

In other news...
Angler's Pro Tackle in the metroplex carries the original manufacturer's replacement feather treble hooks for the yellow magics (both 1/2 oz and 1/4 oz versions).

I replace all my yellow magic hooks immediately. Got tired of bending them on the first fish

I replace mine with triple grip regualer shank and I prefer a buck tail to feathers so I tie my own. That said APT has the originals or did the last time I was there.

Yeah I hate to bust your bubble TR but in 1985 I was the Jawtec Rep for ArkLaTex and I was selling the Pop-R's that Zell Rowland designed for a Japanese angler named Azumi. Azumi hand-sanded & painted them himself and hand tied the chicken feather on the rear treble. Azumi wrote his name on each one of them with a single strand of hair. They sold for $30 apiece in 1985.

How long were you the rep? They made a Terminator worm that I caught a ton of big fish on at night including a 13 on fork in 1993 at night. I had bought them from one of the local shops with a worm bar?

Five years 1985 to 1989. I remember the Terminator Worm & Lizard. Caught a ton of fish on it at Fork. The first DD I ever caught was in Aug 1987 on a 3/4 oz jig with a Wacky Craw on back. She went 11.61.
