No Beef? Only thing I got.....
1.5 pounds of Frijoles soaked in fresh water overnight and rinsed. Casserole brand is what I use. Sort them to make sure no rocks.
2 smoked ham hocks
Put the hocks in your slow cooker
Dump the beans over them
Cover with fresh water
Salt n pepper n garlic to taste
Run on low for eight hours adding water as needed to keep an inch or so over the frijole as they soak it up
Add a tablespoon of Cumin six hours in
Cook a pan of homemade cornbread
Serve with whatever topping you like (chopped onion, cilantro, cheese, or whatever)
Don't choke on a pork bone.
