Hi all, this may be a dumb question but do I have to use the Built in Universal Sonar 2 transducer that comes with the Terrova for my front unit? Iā€™d like to have down/side imaging and just use the external transducer that I currently have.

Nope. There are a couple of people that make brackets to keep the cable away from the lift assist. I also had to buy a Lowrance transducer mount.
I got one from the cable saver from Cornfield Crappie online. Works fine.
