In a tournament a couple of years ago, the first fish of the day that was caught was a keeper. My partner measured the fish and it was14 3/4”. He turned and instead of putting the fish in the live well he flipped the fish back in the lake. I said it was a keeper why did you do that, but before he could answer the fish jumped back in the boat. I said, see even the fish knew he was supposed to be kept. Eventually the fish was culled and we all had a good laugh at my brothers expense.

Dang. This whole bass fishing thing is way harder for me. Had no idea you guys learned how to train them to jump in the boat.

A few years ago I was Muskie fishing, hooked a fish and the fish jumped on the back deck with me during the "fight". It jumped back out but I did end up landing it.

I accidently spilled some jack blk into a lake once while fishing and what possibly was at least a 4-6 lb bass jumped into my boat! .....Well ... I told him " NO More " and threw him back cause he didn`t chip in!

years ago, three of us were fishing out of an aluminum boat in a small lake they were draining.....fish were really spooky and jumping in the shallow water when we got near them....a 7 1/2 lb bass jumped in the boat, landed between the rear seat and transom...my buddy who was sitting in the rear seat, put his foot on the fish and claimed him... he took the fish home and had it mounted....his thought was it would make a heck of a conversational piece and it has....

Had a 4 pounder jump up on the front deck with us at Monty years ago when the troller ran into some brush. Hit my partner in the knee and scared him to death. The fish flopped a couple times and went back into the lake.

I run Media NE division and one guy put his boat in and was pulling up to the bank at Cypress spring and a small spot had jump on him front deck... I ask him how he trained the bass to do that.. Heck I can't fish and this guy had them jumping on his front deck Needless to say he did not win that tournament..

We were spawn crappie fishing a few years back in a Richland Chambers creek. Dabbing the catails, my wife pulled in her jig, so I could move the boat on to the next spot. Just as she got her jig in the boat, a huge bass followed the jig and jumped in the boat. Flopping around her feet, the bass was so heavy, it sprained her wrist as she wrestled to get the bass back into the water. There was a couple of black gentleman fishing on the shore laughing and cheering her on. Here is the funny part. A couple years later, we were in the same spot. Not paying any attention to the people on the bank, I overhead someone telling his fishing buddy about the biggest bass he had ever seen jumping in the boat with a woman a few years back. His buddy thought he was telling a tall tale. We hollered to him, "Hey, that was us!" We all had a good laugh for the 2nd time around.

One night had four jump into the boat while night fishing over grass beds. Love to hear their tails flapping when they get 2-3 feet of air. Almost like bird wings.
