Awesome. When I did skip a day of school I would head for my favorite water hole every time. My mother always knew and was fine with it.

That young man has his priorities straight, good job to his parents. Would much rather have them outdoors and fishing when playing hookie rather than playing ridiculous video games all day. While I can't officially condone skipping school, I was known to miss a day or two when I heard the fish were biting or the dove were flying. If and when my boys pull this, and if I know my boys they will, I will have to give them a gratuitous lecture in front of mamma then remind them to invite dada next time once mamma is out of hearshot.

That would have been me back when I was a kid, except the fish would have been a lot smaller.

I remember a buddy and me skipping Dallas high school. We went fishing in the channel at Mountain Creek Lake. Assistant principle called the house and said that I been missing classes. My Dad was at home and he told them he knew where to find me. When I seen him pull up in his 58 Chevrolet station wagon.,Fear struck my heart. All he said was "Are you catching any?"

We've all done it, and some to a greater or lesser degree, but any time spent in the woods, or around a stream or lake in the outdoors is a learning experience. You can't get that in a classroom!
Just one more cast!
