Took my wife’s uncle and cousins out on Lewisville this morning. We got bait easy in 24 ft but only managed 5 good gizzards. Luckily they were magnums. We started out drifting a main lake hump and caught 5 dink’s on threadfin. Tons of sandies but cats were small. We decided to change spots and headed north up the channel. We found a good group in 30 ft but very light wind had most of the fish laying on the bottom. Wind started to pick up and the clouds moved in and everything came up off the bottom and started to feed. We got into em real good in 25 ft. We caught the smaller fish on threads and the slots all came off big gizzard filets or heads. We caught too many to count and the bite was on fire when we left at 11:30. All fish CPR’ed to fight another day....

Isnt it amazing how much better a brewski tastes when the fish are biting! Way to go....

Great day out there blue. I'm going to be headed out tomorrow but with the wind forecast I'll just have to bank fish. 20mph sustained and gusts to 35 is too much for the yak!

That looks freakin awesome man!!!!....Great job on putting them on those fish!!!....wife and I haven't been on that spot in about six or seven years I have some pictures from back then that were some awesome trips!!!!!....I need to get back to that spot again LOL

That last pic was in the spot I first had in mind when you said you were going. I sure like that drift this time of year. I can’t get off my damn dozer soon enough. I’m so ready for a fishing aggression session! I should finish up dozing late Tuesday. Then, brews and blues!

Thanks amigos! We only caught 12 dinks our previous 2 trips with those boys so i was feeling the pressure to produce. The lake was glass without a cloud in the sky when we got on the lake. It was a huge relief when the clouds and wind finally showed up. I told the boys “if you hear my T-top start to whistle it’s about to be on.” I looked down at the graph and it was like a switch was turned on and every fish in the lake came up off the bottom and started to feed. Wind picked up and the T-top started to whistle! “Y’all hear that ? I sez, it’s about to be on!” It wasn’t 30 seconds went by and we were hooked up. Just as we would get one in another rod would go down. Didn’t even have time to sip a beer the last hour cuz the boys were too busy catching fish and taking pics. Bluecat’n ain’t easy fellas but that’s what makes it so sweet. When your in the right place at the right time with the right bait it’s what dreams are made of. We didn’t get any trophy’s but those boys said it was the best catfishing they had ever done.

On a side note, one time my good buddy Littlefeather asked me if I thought about plugging some of the drain holes in my t-top to stop that whistling and I told him that’s my fish whistle and they are staying!

Thanks again fellas! That trash can is one of the coolest and best gadgets I got on the boat...No empty cans on the floor or compartment or livewell lid slamming every time someone has to throw something away. No more empty honey bun or beef jerky wrappers to blow into the lake. No flapping trash bags in the wind and It makes fishing with guests alot more tidy. I don’t have to keep sounding like an a hole every time I remind someone to try not to slam the dang lids.
