So you get to your honey hole, drop the trolling motor, spot lock on, you get your favorite jig out, slide the trailer on and toss it over the edge of the boat ready to flip it in. Its at that exact moment you realize you never tied it on to your line and your jig just went straight to the bottom of the lake.

I’ve done worse. Twice.
Fishing a tourney. I catch number 6. Out a cull tag on it. Get out the cull beam. Decide which is heavier, then throw the other into the lake. With the cull tag still on it. Once it was the heavier fish.
So, yeah, throw baits overboard all the time. Lol.

I did that twice last weekend. Don't think I'd done it twice in my life until then. Funny thing is my buddy did the same thing the weekend before when we were prefishing and I gave him so much chit for it then.

My favorite was when I cut my braid with my scissors and then tossed the scissors instead of the line. I’ve got that award too. Lol Luckily, I mostly break off hooks, so don’t have to retie them often. I retie a lot of cranks. Those at least float. Haha.

Haven't done it yet but I expect it will happen one day! Happened to me yesterday. However I was in the garage so all I had to do was fish'em out of the garbage can. 
I am a Senager. (Senior teenager) I have everything that I wanted as a teenager, only 50 years later. I get an allowance every month. I have PU truck and a bass boat, I am blessed.

Done it with spinner bait, cussed, tied on another , cast and watch it fly away because I was mad and tied a bad knot. You just have to smile and sheepishly look around to see who witnessed your stupidity. Now I don’t toss them overboard any more

fishing a brush pile and breakoff,...grab the end off the line and retie, throw the jig back in the water turn around to get a drink and get hung again in the same spot, without even touching the rod and broke off again,.......
