I know Pre Front fishing can be good most of the time. The times I have fished the day of a front are usually not that good. Any of you, had good days catching fish on the day of a front?

I have fished a lot of days when cold fronts arrive. Sometimes the bite is good and other times it shuts down. The strength of the front plays a huge factor!

The day of a front for me has usually been a bust, especially if its windy and/or bluebird skies.

I usually only watch the weather from a safety standpoint. I have caught fish and been skunked in all conditions.

Don't know, if you don't go. Well, after reading about the fishing sucks for a while after a front moves in; I just couldn't resist. So after doing my choirs for my bride of 53 year, I grabbed my 3 Wt fly rod (to battle the high winds a front usually brings), and my Hip Boots and headed to my local creek for a look see. Fished for a couple of hours and couldn't believe the creek was on fire. Not only that but I was catching them on a flat in the middle of the creek in about 2 feet of water in bright sunlight (who would have thunk). Well, I caught over a dozen Blue Gills, Redbreast, and my favorite Rio Grande Cichlid, none under 7 inches. Here is the largest for the day at 9.75 inches.

Thanks a bunch Banker, Laker, and Gitter. The Rios are really on the move. I am still seeing beds in the creek, not many, but a few and many of the male Bluegill are peeing and showing their spawning colors.
