I was just about to enter a no wake zone bridge crossing and the spring broke on the hot foot. Ended up yanking the kill switch to stop. That could have turned ugly pretty quick. Anyone else ever have a spring break on them?

Shhhh or they'll pass a law for a secondary kill switch hooked to hotfoot. Never heard of one breaking before.

One of the guys fishing our tourney yesterday broke a hot foot spring. Then the talk began on where to get one to replace it. LOTS of broken springs apparently. Lots of “I got one at the hardware store” and “I just rebent the end” comments.

No definitive answer, except Ace Hardware had a huge selection of springs and “one worked”.

Looks like you can buy an OEM replacement but it's nearly $20!
