I tried to fry one time, kinda rubbery. Not a terrible taste. Fairly white meat. I'm gonna keep my next one and try the grill. Anybody had success eating one? But they are UGLY

I’m convinced there’s no species of fish (Salt or Fresh) that won’t eat those suckers. I bet that was fun thumb

Been a while since I hooked into one. I was on a roll at Ray Roberts a year or two ago with them.

Caught 2 more today. 10lb braid and a 10lb flouro leader on a spinning reel. I've only cleaned one and fried the filets this summer with some bluegill we caught. Wasn't bad.

I went st Claire this summer and we caught 20 or 30 of them things on a Ned rig each day. We would think we had a giant small mouth and then get a giant disappointment roflmao

Caught 1,000s when I was fishing GSU canal around Pt. Neches. Don't fry them. Bake them like you do redfish.

If you ever see the term "bay snapper" on a restaurant menu, you will be getting black drum.
