I keep blowing bearings on my trailer. Ive blown I think 5 in total, three just on one spindle on the front left, and then once on both sides on the back axle. Something is obviously wrong with either the trailer, axles, or spindles. I am trying to figure out what the cheapest route would be. Getting new spindles welded on, new axles, or just a new trailer all together. In a perfect world id like to get a new trailer because my current one is getting pretty old and I am starting to have safety concerns with certain things. But I am having trouble finding a used one that is in good shape. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I'd second this recommendation if you're close enough. I took them one of my axles and they had a new set loaded with hubs ready for me in a day.

Axles, leaf springs, bearings are amazingly cheap these days. If that was your only concern I would say get some new axles put under it and roll on. However, it sounds like you have some other issues bothering you. Nothing worse than pulling a trailer down the road that you don't trust. Need to get someone to look at that trailer that really knows what they are doing. Impossible to say how deep the issues go without looking at it. If you are anywhere close to Athens/Palestine I can recommend a few guys that are good.

Tell me about it. I live in San Angelo and was up in little rock the 20th and blew a bearing while up there. Drove back three legged. Talk about scary, thankful to have a tandem axle trailer lol. My main concern besides the the axle situation is my brakes. Its a late 90's model so it has drum breaks but they no longer work. Id like to convert to disc but I know that is pricey and then adding new axle and labor fees will just make the cost go through the roof. That is why I am really considering just buying a new trailer if I can find one at a decent price. In a perfect world I would find a goof used trailer with disc breaks and vault bearings roflmao

Man that sounds terrible. Thankfully I have a tandem or I would have been screwed several times.

It's time for a rebuild or new trailer. I lost two wheels on the same side one time with a 5000 pound boat. You don't want to deal with that out in the middle of nowhere.

Roadmaster can build you a brand new one for around $3500

I did not have good luck with Roadmaster. I would not recommend them for anything.

McClain Trailers are rock solid and reasonably priced. All aluminum and built to specs. You will have to go to Houston to pick it up.

And I know who "Jeff" is.
