For you guys that live and fish on fork, wife and I are thinking about getting a tiny house or rv and living in a resort. Can you give me the pros and cons of my idea. We won't be full timing there just like spring and fall all we fish for is crappie. Ideas like best areas and really good resorts, would like a lake front if possible thanks tim.

Make sure you find one that doesn't limit your intentions! Most can't live there full time, some max stay is 2 weeks or only a certain number of days per year, etc. We've been in Pelican Point for 8 years now and it's been great. My only complaint is we don't use it enough anymore.

Pick an area somewhat close to the main highways. You don't want to spend 10 minutes or more driving out just to get to the highway. It gets old fast. Plus the county roads aren't that great either, so your cars, truck, boats take a beating. I'm in Yantis. I'm 15 minutes from Sulphur Springs, Winnsboro, Emory or Quitman. I'm 8 to 10 minutes from any public ramp.

I would also try and stay closer to the damn, it makes it easier to get anywhere on the lake. I live way up one of the arms and itโ€™s a long ride to get up the other arm.

A good point made by Slewfoot. There are many parks that limit the number of days a month or number of consecutive days you can stay there. That sucks if you ask me. Most of the parks have their own pro's and con's. I've never spent much time in any of the parks, but based on what I've seen/heard, Caney Point RV Resort, Paradise RV park and Pelican Point are probably where I would look.

Tim, did you make it down? Iโ€™m letting you do the leg work for me. If you did how did it go?
