My office is moving to Cypress Waters next week and I will be close to the southeast portion of Lake Grapevine.
Will have to start going out there a night or 2 after work.
I know nothing about the lake and am just starting to look for ramps and the contours in this section.
I hope to do a little cat fishing.
Is there a good place to put in close to the Dam?
Any information on good places to launch in the southeast would be appreciated.
If there are places I need to stay away from that would also be appreciated.

Its not near the dam, but Twin Coves Park in Flower Mound has a kayak launch dock, as well as a regular launch. I cant remember how much it is. We paid for a yearly access card. Im sure if you go more than 10-15 times in a year the yearly works out cheaper. Being on the north shore, its not as wind-friendly as something on the south side, but paddling back in would be easy.

Grapevine has an annual pass good for one year from purchase date and it is good at most of the ramps on that side of the lake....

Thanks for the input.
I will try to go check these out this week after work.

There is what looks to be park just south of the dam. I do not see a boat ramp there but does the shore go down gradually so you could launch a kayak from there or is there a drop off?
Is it safe to leave a vehicle there>

If you're talking about the greenbelt/trail across the street from Grapevine Mills mall, you _might_ be able to launch a kayak here: https://www.google.com/maps/place/32%C2%B058'24.5%22N+97%C2%B002'36.6%22W/@32.9734621,-97.0440502,234m/data=!3m2!1e3!4b1!4m6!3m5!1s0x0:0x0!7e2!8m2!3d32.9734606!4d-97.0435035

Otherwise there's a dropoff along the trail. The spot I linked to above has some rocks you can walk down to and possibly launch your kayak from if you're willing to drag it that far and through the rocks.

I was actually talking south end of the dam on the lake side there is a road sunfish drive that goes along the shore there.

There is actually a ramp there but it has been closed due to high water, not sure if it has opened yet. I don't know how far it is from the barricades to the water. The rest of the park is pretty steep down to the water.....
