Windy. Tough for me today. I'm only catching slot fish if I find these conditions. 1) Shallow flat off the main lake at the front of the major creeks with grass in it... American pondweed, etc 2) Wind blowing in to the flat. 3) Blue Herons The herons are there feeding on shad as are the bass. I'm mostly fishing a 6th Sense Wake 70 in Shad Scales pattern. When I say Im fishing shallow flats, my trolling motor is in the mud and that is holding me in the wind. I dont have an Ultrex with spot lock yet. Im certainly not a guide and maybe everyone else is hammering them some other way. There are small slot fish in the pads in Oil Well Bay at the north end of the lake near Coffee Creek Marina but I didn't want to make the run all the way up there today. Those fish can be caught on a 6th Sense weedless wacky rigged Clout 5.4 But if you are fishing the Berkley tournament, these spots will get you a check for the under 16 inches. (I don't fish tournaments) I think the biggest tell is the Blue Herons. If they are not there, then I dont think the shad are in there. The farther back I go from the main lake, the fewer herons I'm seeing. This will probably all change with some fronts coming in.

Good Luck
