What are your favorite colors for the blade on a vibrating jig, aka "chatterbait" ? Do you stick with nickel or gold or do you prefer other colors most of the time - like blue, white, black, green pumpkin? I fish normally in fairly clear dark color waters with scattered vegetation and brush.

I prefer the nickle color for whites/shad colors. Sometimes gold around cypress trees when using a bream colored skirt. If the water is clear or I see followers but no takers I'll sharpie some of the blade black. Don't think I've ever bought a black bladed one intentionally though.

Depends on the sun for me. If it's sunny I want to maximize flash, nickel in clearer water and gold in stain. I think in terms of how far the flash penetrates the water. No sun, I want solid colors because to me the color is actually more visible in that instance. I believe these changes are not going to decide if you get bit or not I think these tweaks are more for getting an extra few bites.
