Could you use an air fryer to make your own jerky, instead of having a separate dehydrator?

Maybe set the temp for 100 degrees for 6 hours?

Is Anybody doing this?

I don’t know about an air fryer, but you can make jerky with a box fan and 4 or 5 cheap home air filters. The GOAT says so.

The one I have only goes down to 180 degrees and the longest time is 60 minutes. This would likely be too high for jerky and not long enough. You would have to keep resetting the time. I would use the recipe above by Alton Brown or a smoker with the heat on the lowest setting, or a dehydrator.

I marinate it, slow smoke for two hours, season with Greek Seasoning, and put in dehydrator till finished.

You can also just use you oven with the door cracked open

Anything over 140 degrees and your just cooking it.

done this many times. oven door had to be cracked about 4 inches though or it got too hot. made excellent jerky. not somethin ya wanna do in the middle of summer tho

Has to be at least 165*F to kill bacteria in meat....

not true brother. check out the FDA's temperature and time chart. killing bacteria is a function of both temperature and time

We just got our ninja Foodi a couple weeks ago but haven't had time to try it on jerky.

No
