I got out on Lewisville at about 6:00 this evening and fished for an hour and a half. No ski boats. Only 1 jet ski and only one other trailer at the ramp. Fished 4 brush piles for about 20 minutes each. Pulled about 4-6 fish per stop and only 2 dinks. Fish where hitting shad colored Thump Buddies over the top of brush in 10- 15 fow. Look forward to the days when I can fish when nobody else is there. So peaceful.

You don't have to wait till you retire. I fish all winter long and most of the lakes are empty in January and February.

Now I just have to settle for a few vacation days here and there. I do most of my fishing from September to mid May. When the turn the heat on I slow way down. Hope to retire in a year or two but who knows.

I agree 100%...:) I love to go out fishing during the week. Nice and peacefull and much more enjoyable. We're looking at places down around Tyler\Mineola with a lake nearby.
I'll probably always have a side gig so we don't burn thru our retirement funds too fast.....but I guarantee you I'll have a couple of days off during the week to fish..:) Just a few more years to go.

take it from me, when I fish PK during the week it's like I own a private lake. I might see a boat or two but most days I see no one.

I have about 5 years to go. I love the winter for fishing. So many miss the best time of year. That said, creeks I fished for years with only the same few people there year after year are now boat to boat all winter post internet. I also hope to retire to east Texas and enjoy.

I use to say that all the time but the closer I get and the older I get I have already realized there's a bunch of aches and pains that come with the age of retirement......LOL

Just the thought of being there every day when there is no wind and no one else on the lake is enough to consume me some days at work. I know that's kind of shallow, but heck I cant hardly wait. I do look forward to it. It's not to keep them all,. Its just to get out there and find them in peace. And to do it with no wake boats around.

Same thing on Whitney , some days I am the only boat on the lake except for maybe a stripper guide . Love it . So close to being full time retired at our lake house . All my neighbors that live there are retired and still call me part time LOL .
