The first decision is to determine if you want a floor type or hanging type scale. I use 2 USPS floor scales. A 10 pound scale for smaller fish and a 300 pound scale for the big boys. Both scales are certified and registered for records. The scales I use have been discontinued but here are some recent options from USPS.com: https://store.usps.com/store/results/_/Ntt-SCALE
