Any one use a floro leader with a bait caster.
How long a leader. I’m guessing maybe 12” will work
Also thought about using a camo braid with no leader.
Any ideas. Also what y’all do using braid in clear water

Green h20 express braid on everything....in all water.
The only leader I use is Big Game mono on my C-rigs.

For casting I put my FG knot above the reel before the first guide. For flipping I use a 12in leader so I never feel the knot. 50lb maxcuatro braid and vicious fuoro leaders of all weights depending on situation.

With the exception of a c-rig if i have braid on i use straight braid. With the water here in east texas i don't think it is gonna make that big a difference. With the c-rig i use braid main line and big game mono for the leader

Yup, do it quite a bit. I have around 5-6 combos that are braid to flouro leader

I been doing it on my jig and flipping rods but they have small eyelets.
Never used straight braid in clear water. And when skipping docks
Fg knot hangs up on the last eye sometimes. Guess I need different rods or try camouflage braid. ?

I use black braid or if I cant get it, I use a black magic marker for about 3 foot.

Would use backing or put a piece of tape on the spool to keep the line from wanting to spin. Also I have not had good luck with braid 30lb and below on a baitcaster. The line likes to really dig in on itself in the spool.

I use a 6' to 7' mono leader. This keeps the knot it out of the reel while leaving enough line for a few re-ties.

I uses the Lefty Kreh knot. This is easily tied on the water and it hasn't slipped on me yet!

Yea small braid will bind up to easy. I don’t use anything less than 50 lb and it’s equivalent
to 12lb mono.

I used to use floro and occasionally a floro leader. Completely frustrated with floro this spring so switched to 100% braid all the time except on most moving baits (crank baits, spinnerbaits...use mono for those). Use 50llb suffix 832 or power pro (which ever is cheaper the day I am reloading) for jigs, t rigs, weightless plastics, topwaters of all sorts, lipless crank baits and for chatter baits. Will sometimes use braid on shallow crank baits as well if I am throwing in grass or where it would get similarly hung. Full disclosure, I typically fish in less than 12 feet of water...usually less than 6 and the water usually is limited to 36" or less of visibility. Don't notice any real benefit from all floro or a leader on braid hence the switch to all braid. Reason I fish with mono on the cranks and spinnerbaits is because I think the stretch helps my hook up ratio.

I use mono on top water and floro on cranks, spinnerbaits and finesse worms. Just wondered if braid would hinder the bite in clear water. Guess I’m gonna find out.
