For those of you that fish year around what do you do once the fall feeding frenzy dies off? I plan to fish through the winter this year because I can't stand fishing in the summer anymore

Winter is probably my favorite time to fish. Lakes are empty and big ones eat.

If you can find grass and/or clear water, you can catch 'em all winter on traps, chatterbaits, and senkos.
If the lake you're fishing has a creek that you can get up into, start there.

Keep it shallow but slow down a little bit. Winter time is my favorite time of year to fish because that is generally when you catch the bigger ones.

What winter? You can catch them shallow. Traps Here's your answer. The old slow fishing a jig is really not the answer. I rarely throw anything besides a trap, crankbait, or chatterbait in the winter. And it's the best fishing of the year.

Have to agree, dragging a jig slow is a really good way to waste about half the day. They do catch fish, but you're not putting it in front of near as many fish. Anything under 50 degree water temp and I'm in hog heaven, a-rig and a jerkbait on the deck and leave everything else at home. Over 50 and I'll add a spinnerbait and chatterbait to the mix but that under 50 degrees is when it's magic.

What grass? If there is a small pod of grass Parks & Wildlife will spray it and then swear they have made things better. Winter you just have to grind still better than sitting home

Have had some long days of only catching a few in the winter, last year in December, remember only catching 3 all day until 5:15. Found a school and out some good ones in the boat. To me winter time is the best time to catch a trophy.
