Just in case y’all were wondering about Gilmer here is its current shape. Stump city on the east side of the lake.

Late to the party--why's it so low?

Edit: Just saw the other thread. Never mind me.

They drew it down to work on the dam
The ramp back open yet? If not, expected date?

Ramps still locked, I don't know if they've started working on spillway yet. Was an article in the paper last week reporting the City of Gilmer is trying to find the money in their budget for the work.

There's also some political BS going on right now about property owners wanting to build boathouses. Had a meeting a few weeks ago with the "powers to be" and they were told NO once again. I find it awfully coincidental that they started lowering the lake a few weeks before the meeting. Sure would be nice to build those boathouses and piers right now.

Lower the lake, close the ramp and then start “looking for money to do the work”? Sounds like the city of Gilmer has the same ability to project plan as Alvarado. Alvarado closed their ramp many, many months before actually starting the ramp/parking project. It’s nice though......finally. Not complaining about the project, just the thought process(or lack there of).
