Where are the best places to look for shad when trying to find them for afternoon/evening fishing?

Boat ramps or by docks.

Not a Twak guy but fish are fish. Look for a light close to the water or a marina with bright gas dock lights in less than 10 feet. Typically, when bait is tough at PK a couple throws in an area like that fills the bait tank.

Downside, be prepared ( need good headlamp and patience) to get a gar or catfish in your throw net. These are a joy to untangle at night.

Also look for herons on the banks that the wind is blowing towards. They know where the fish are...

I've had good luck catching shad in the mouth of Rabbit cove on the west side just inside the main lake point.
