My self and fishing buddy Jeff fished Lady Bird Lake today from 7am till 2p. We launched our kayaks on the west side of IH 35. The bite started out slow but picked up around 10am. Fair numbers of Bluegill in the 8 to 9 inch range, a few Large Mouth Bass in the 2 to 3 Lb range, and a few nice Redbreast in the 9" range rounded out the catch. The bass were caught on artificial worms, Chartreuse in color, by grass beds in 8 to 10 feet of water. The Bluegill and Redbreast were all caught on spinning baits mainly Rooster Tails, White in color. The sunfish were also by grass beds in 8 to 12 feet of water and by overhanging tree limbs close to the bank in about 4 to 5 feet of water. Saw several schools of nice Rios but could not get any of them to bite. All fish caught were released. Always a great time fishing the LBL!

Nice report Curtis. Good job guys. Looks like you got em dialed in pretty good on the LBL! Side Note: How deep were the Rios?

Thanks Chuck. The more you fish a water body the better the chances of finding fish! We saw the Rios in about five feet of water close to the bank. They were in groups of about 10 to 20 fish!

Nice report Laker! On thing nice about fishing the LBL is no boats with motors! At least you do not have to worry about wake boaters or jet fleas!

That is about the size of schools I have been seeing on some of the creeks I am fishing. They are hanging close to the Hydrilla/weed beds not to far from the deeper pockets of water.

Thanks Laker had similar luck on Sunday fishing the same end of the Lake, though I didn't run into the Rio's the Bluegill and Long Eared Sunnies were active and seemed to be schooling.
