If you like Italian food, Rosebud on Rush street is awesome.

The have a Weber Grill Restaurant, its kinda cool to see them cooking on the huge kettles. Check out Eataly several places to eat inside. On the same street I think its Ohio is a Speakeasy called Watershed its in the bottom of the Pops bar. Google it, its pretty cool and always laid back when we go. We did brunch at the Signature Room which is on the 95th floor of the John Hancock building. Its cool to do once. Great views. For seafood check out Joes or Shaws both are great. Hit the River walk lots of places to grab a beer and watch people. If you really wanna go big try and get a table at Alinea. We also did a architecture boat tour and it was great. We really like Chicago its a great city.

I would headed to the southside and grab a beer with Frank at The Alibi Room. That might be around disability day, which would be free drinks.

I go to downtown 2 or 3 times a year. I was just there last month. It’s actually a great city. The west side and south side outside of the city is where you can’t go. Look at the list of people murdered there. Not many people with names like Jacob, Mark, Steve, etc... just saying.

Chicago is complete misery in December, it is going to suck, much to cold of a climate for habitation. Pray that the skies are clear, if you get the raw deal of having some wintery mix precipitation on a travel day, it is suckXinfinity. Its now a 2-3hr commute to the airport, then massive 5hr delays with flights just cancelling, eventually. Plan for a short period of anarchy if there is a blizzard during your trip. Change locations if it is at all possible, don't worry about staying on Michigan Ave though, that is the least worrisome of your potential future afflictions. Wonderful city to visit late Spring- early Fall though.
