So I am a high schooler at Allen High School and I've been fishing THSBA tournament coming on my third year now. I do not own a bass boat so I reached out and found someone willing to captain me, but prefishing wise, i own a 16ft Lowe Jon boat that I built a deck for to make it "bass-fishable." I have an 82lb thrust tiller controlled motorguide on it right now, but i also have access to a 45lb thrust foot controlled motorguide. Does anybody know if there is a way i can keep the trolling motor I have on my boat right now, but convert it to a foot control using the parts from the 45lb thrust one?

I don,t know if it is possible, I do know of a product called "troll king" which will do what you want. Made in Canyon Lake TX. 80lbs thrust is alot for a 16ft aluminium boat, are you using in place of an outboard? Reason I am asking is the 45lbs should be powerful enough given it is installed correctly (plus it removes the added weight of an additional battery). If you rather have the 80 then I would suggest a Bigfoot on/off button and a stiffy arm. Makes using a stick steer a lot easier.

I have a 25 horse on the back, I just fell in love with the 82lb trolling motor ever since I started using it. Its quite unnecessary but id love to keep it if posssible.
