What is everyone's thoughts on a cranking battery? Brand, CCA, etc. Going into a Triton TR186 Bass Boat with Console and Front Fishfinders.

Thanks in advance.

Really depends on your motor. Merc’s require huge batteries, Yamis you can use a smaller battery.

You need a minimum of 800cca or 1000mca (some rate it differently, depending on manufacture). I’ll post a link of batteries that are good for mercs. I’m assuming you have an Opti or Pro XS, if you have an EFI, then I might be telling you wrong info; because I don’t know what they need to fire up.

My bad all, I have a 2003 Merc XR6 150 HP. I should have said that off the top.

Thanks!

Then you don't need the 1000CCA which are harder to find. It states right in the Optimax manual 1000 CCA minimum. I never worried too much about CCAs on my Black Max. I looked for high reserve capacity.
