I have a center console with a Helix 998 C SI at the console and Helix 7 G2N at the bow networked. I was going to replace the 998, but then I thought I could just buy like a Helix 8 DI to add to the console. Don't think I can add anything bigger than running 2 8" graphs. Use the 998 for map/SI. Use a new Helix 8 for fish/DI view which is the view I use the most anyway. Or I could just pull the 998 out, sell it and buy a Helix 9 or 10 SI.
A new Helix 10 SI is 2K. - maybe 450 I could get for the 998 so we're talking 1550. A new Helix 8 DI is $899
Money isn't a huge issue for me so I'd rather get this right, but $650 is not chump change either.
Thoughts?

I had a HDS 12 at the console with a broken x85 in the dash. The 12 is great and I usually run split screen and switch back and forth to a 3rd screen rather than running 3 on 1 screen. I had a spare HDS 5 from my old boat that I was able to fit in the dash where the x85 was and networked it to the 12 and to the bow graphs. It is much better like this as I can keep one screen on the 5 and split screen on the 12 and don't need to switch screens as much. Another plus in my case is that I have the built in 5 for sonar and mapping if the kids want to go skiing or tubing and I don't need to take the other graphs....
