FYI buddy and I went out fishing from 7am-1pm today on Ray Roberts and came back to find his pickup trucks windows smashed and items taken.

Wished we would’ve caught em in the act.

The one by the marina or the one off jones rd? I had my trailer winch strap cut off back in late April at the public ramp closest to the marina.

That’s why I leave nothing of value ever in my truck, thieves are everywhere... the sheriffs Dept here lately has had a deputy out there often... did your buddy report it?

Chances are drugs are involved. Sorry that happened to you. I'm surprised there weren't a lot of reports of break-ins at Fork over the weekend.

Sorry about the break in... I prefer the Isle Du Bois State Park Ramp for that very reason. If you've ever spent any amount of time at the Sanger ramp, Jordan, or Buck you'd know what kind of shady folks cruise those ramp parking lots all day.

How was the fishing?

I fished Saturday and Sunday but went out of Jordan, I started to go to Buck because of the wind, but because I wasn't in my truck we went to Jordan just because I keep seeing posts about this stuff happening.

It's amazing how brazen these thieves are. Broad daylight...? Like Mike asked were you at Pond Creek? Had to be, because Sanger access (by the marina) is less secluded. But either way a very bad deal, sorry to hear.

It was the ramp closest to the marina. Yes he made a report. Must’ve been interrupted during the BMV b/c other stuff was left in the truck. They smashed the front passenger window and back driver window, reached in, grabbed items so the alarm wouldn’t go off with the doors, and easy peasy.

x2.

It's a definite pattern and we are being targeted. I try to make eye contact and say hello to people at the ramp and in parking areas. Criminals are uncomfortable being spotted or engaged. Retail associates are taught by Loss Prevention that shoplifters can be deterred simply by being asked if they are finding everything okay. To legitimate customers it is a helpful question and to criminals it increases the risk of getting caught.

Unfortunately the police can't be everywhere. The only ideas I can come up with is to leave valuable items at home/in the boat and try to watch out for one another. If you see something unusual or suspicious, report it. Officers would be happy to swing by the ramp and ask if the fishing is any good.

That sucks. I've noticed if you hide absolutely everything out of plain sight they pass up the truck more often. If you leave anything of value in sight they think there's probably more.

Exactly!!!! That’s why I always have my 9mm with me, because at Jordan there’s always people hanging around that look totally out of place...
