At 50 I have learned that you can't do anything about yesterday, we aren't promised tomorrow, but we do have today in front of us! Life is far too short, and we need to take advantage of every possible day with our family and the few we have with great friends! Due to the wind forecast, my lifelong buddy Jon met me at a small county lake that is about halfway between the two of us. We got on the water about 8:00 and started scanning. We marked a lot of fish that were unwilling to bite. When we could get a bite they were short striking, so we downsized and couldn't get a willing participant at all. Go back to a bigger bait and the strikes were there. While the wind did get up on us a few times, it was actually not too bad and made for a great day on the water. Most fish were found in 10-12.5 FOW. We got all of our fish on Thermocline Lures 2-2.5" tadpoles in Silverflash Chartreuse. No monsters or limits, but I caught some good crappie. This story wouldn't be complete if I didn't add the fact that I took Jon crappie fishing and he was catfishing! It probably isn't super important to point that out, but hey, what are buddies for?

I use band aids as they seem to hold on pretty good. Fishing with braid all the time, I think the sun glove idea might work better!
