Thinking about buying a new rod. I currently use all proangler mediums and love the rods. They are great and I love the action. But I am thinking about trying a new rod. I don't wanting something that is a lot heavier action than what I am already using. I would like an aluminum reel seat as I will be putting a shimano tekota on it and pulling planers. I still want the rod to be soft enough so that a box fish is a fun fight. What are some suggestions?

Warrior Cat and whisker seeker MH both make great planer rods. I switched to warrior cat from whisker seeker mh cuz they had metal reel seats and I was breaking the plastic seats on my planer rods. Now that whisker seeker has the metal reel seats my next rods will be Whisker Seeker FMJ. Those s glass blanks with composite tips that whisker seeker has are the best I’ve fished with.
