Fished a near by river Fiday 9-20-19. Took the 4wt Fly Rod and the waders. Fished from 7am till around 12 noon. The bite started out slow but then picked up around 9am. The bite lasted till about 11am then slowed down. Caught some good eater size Bluegill in the 7 to 8 inch range, Redear in the 8 to 9 inch range,Redbreast in 9 inch range, and a few Large Mouth Bass in the 2 pound range. Lost a couple of bass that were very very nice. When the bite started I was having super good results on top water. The Red Lady Bug got the best results. I also got good results especially from the bass with a Brown/Green Grasshopper. Towards the end of the bite I had switched to sinking flies. A Black beetle got the best results. The river is in good shape with a good current. Fish were all found by weed/grass beds and under overhanging tree limbs in 4 to 8 feet of water. All fish were released! Love fishing on the fly!

Thanks for the report Laker...I heard that they wont be draining the lakes for a year while a solution is explored...but they wont allow ANY recreational activities during that time. Can you imagine what Mcqueeney fishing will be like after a year with no boating or fishing pressure ! It might be worth the fine to fish it late next year

Can you imagine what Mcqueeney fishing will be like after a year with no boating or fishing pressure ! It might be worth the fine to fish it late next year The judges ruling favored the HOA for sure! For what I understand the lakes will be closed for about 60 days while safe zones and danger zones can be established. The danger zones will be blocked off! Once the zones have been established and formed the lakes will open up until a final ruling can be made in October 2020. In the meantime I have plenty of other places to fish until then. Also you are 100 percent right. Mcqueeney without any fishing pressure for several months should be awesome! Beleave it or not Mcqueeney does not get that much fishing pressure due to it being private with no public boat ramps!

Those days wading with the fly rod are something special. You can take me with you next time, all I need is a picture of the river and one of the fly rod and redbreast. I can imagine it very well though, thanks for sharing
