had this line show up don't know where it came from. I could not see the top of the water. The only way I could get rid of it was to restore factory defaults.

Also at what speed is best for side scan on an Lowrance?

1.) It looks like your surface clarity and noise discrimination are too high.

2 ) which color palette are you using?

I turn off both and it was still there. I even when to custom deep and tried to set it to zero, one would stay at 0005. After I reset the unit it went away. I don't remember what palette I was using. Going from an Elite to this Carbon is whole new world for me, I am learning.

I can not afford to pay for someone to set up this unit so I am looking at all kind of help videos on line and asking questions here on the forum. I sure there is others that have the same question as I do and maybe more I have not run into yet, so please bear with me. As much as the things cost I will master it. For you younger folks I hope you don't haft to live on S. S. like me, It sucks.

I did that for a question I and wound up spending 5 weeks to get the right answer. I even sent them my unit for two weeks. I rather ask here than go through that again.

Well if they couldn't help after sending in the unit not sure anyone here can. Does the line come back after you restore defaults?

I would look around the Waco area and see if maybe find a guide that would take a look at your unit...just a thought.
