My college roommate got blackout drunk one summer and got up take a leak. Apparently thought he was in the bathroom but starting peeing on his parents’ bedroom door. His mom woke up, opened the door and he peed on her foot.

I did something similar in the corner of a rented RV at Texas motor speedway once, and once in my college roommates laundry basket while he and his girlfriend laughed at me. But my mom wasn’t around for either of those, so i haven’t peed on her. Yet.

Is it by chance near your water heater? Our W/H by the master bath has a dedicated drain for the relief valve that goes into our septic system. I got dry or something go in it and caused a stink. I poured some bleach water into the drain pipe and the smell went away.

Check shower pan / drain. Could be leaking and getting walls or insulation wet. Go outside house and see if running through walls by bathroom.

Check everyone’s tennis shoes. The formeldyhides they use deteriorate over time resulting in an odor resembling cat urine. I got 2 free replacements from New Balance

I'm guessing ALL New Balance shoes smell old, dead, and peed on.

Check with the previous owners. If they moved because of the smell, you might want to consider Dan90210's advice and go the priest route. Sleeping with a dead toad soaked in stump water will help.

I went to school with a girl whose family actually got sick and had to move because of the formeldyhide in the carpet of a home they moved into.
