Who the hell needs trailer lights? If mine work, they work. If they don’t, and I get pulled over “aw, [censored]. They worked at the house when I did my pre-trip inspection, officer” (shout out to CCTX). Hell, my trailer license plate resides in the center console of my truck because I’ve gotten tired of replacing it when it gets knocked off going down the road.
Team wolfs I had to perform. It took a minute to get it all in my mouth and another five to swallow it all.

It is a low current condition causing the old school flasher to blink fast. You will see this when replacing incandescent bulbs with LED bulbs (which is a good thing). The LED bulbs draw very little current (and last forever) which will cause the hyperflash to occur.
Simply replace the old flasher with a solid state flasher and hyperflash is history. You can then run any combination of bulb types without issue, but you do lose the bad bulb detection. No biggie if you run LED as they almost never quit working and will not burn up the sockets which is another problem you have. Thanks Cast your post explains the issue every well. And naturally brings up more questions. The trailer lights are now new led. The truck lights are all incandescent. Do they make truck lights that are just plug and play led? Do I have to replace the flasher if doing that with my truck lights? Is the burnt socket going to eat bulbs worse now? It appears to be more burnt now than 2 years ago when I replaced that same bulb. I do like the hyper flash alert that I have a bulb out. On the back, they are quick and easy to change when they burn out. On the front I suspect that might not be the case but don’t recall changing any of those front ones on this truck.

i would start with replacing that lamp receptacle and stay with the 3057 bulb. if it is a resistance issue, it would burn out the trailer leds, not the truck lamps
p.s. use dielectric grease on both, lamp socket and receptacle plug

Ok so the guy at autozone sold me a pair of 4057 bulbs after we confirmed it was 2012 f150 xlt rear turn signal. They looked sort of familiar so I looked in the door pocket and sure enough there was one left in the 2 pack from last time this happened. Except they were 3057. Both look identical and say Sylvania Longlife which is apparently a little over 2 years. Any idea what’s up with the 2 different part numbers? Judging from the bulb socket I reckon this one got a little warm somewhere along the way. Do you have a Sephora close? You need to pickup some Sol De Janeiro and moisturize those hands.
