Last weekend I attended the Fishing Tackle swap meet at Fin n Feather Pavillion on Toledo Bend. If you didn’t go, you missed a great event. It wasn’t just used things, as many vendors also sold new equipment. Bass,Crappie& Catfish goodies. We at Elite Power Systems/LithiumRage.com,Curtis Johnson & Jason Geesey, would like to give a HUGE thank you to Mike & Fin n Feather Lodge/Grill/Pavillion. We took our Lithium Batteries & Chargers, info brochures, & a whole lot of ours & friends used tackle we no longer use (some brand new). There were many young fishermen & ladies from high school Bass fishing teams there. You KNEW they didn’t have $$$ buy what they were looking at. Maybe a $150 rod that was marked $50. You just had to see their faces light up when you’d tell them, $10. One particular incident: a young lady on the Hemphill ISD Fishing Team was there with her younger brother. It was 4:30 pm & almost time to pack up & leave. Vendors were already loading up. I had already loaded batteries, chargers, some tackle & I stopped to speak with these 2 youngsters. She explained they only had $5 to spend between them ,while they were here. I asked her & her brother how many rods & reels they had. She said they have 1 each. I grabbed 2 TFO rods & 2 of my (NIB) Lews reels, sat them on the table & said “ Make me an offer”. She said, “ You’re kidding, right?”. I said NOPE. She pulled out a wadded up & worn $5 bill & said “It’s all we got”. I said “Tell you what I’m gonna do (In my best Mr. Haney from Green Acres voice) “ “You keep the $5 & I’ll throw in a spool of 15# fluorocarbon line just to make it fair”.....Those 2 smiling faces made the 298 mile one way drive for me worth it!!! Clifford Wiedman from Hale Lures dba Stanley Jigs booth had given them 5 jigs each. Way to go Clifford. Hey, I believe it takes an ENTIRE community to raise good kids in today’s times, & I KNOW, there’s 2 kids in East Texas that are gonna be fishin’ instead of getting into trouble & mischief. Our Bass fishing community is large & TEXAS FISHING FORUM is the absolute BEST thing to happen for our community! Once again , THANK YOU to Mike Knight, Fin n Feather Lodge, Clifford Wiedman Hale Lures/Stanley Jigs Huntington Tx , Trace Greer Mallard Marine in Nacogdoches, Tx, & Texas Fishing Forum, for the highlights of my weekend. Mike Knight would like to put on 5 of these events every year at 5 different Lakes/Venues. His goal is to keep vendor booth rental rates down ($15-$50). Its a win win situation for everyone! So, next time, go check it out when you hear of one happening. It’s WELL worth your time!,, Get them kids Fishin’ Stay safe out there & God Bless.

Sounds great! Would definitely go if it was closer to DFW or Lake Fork!
