im hoping to take my grandson out and catch some white/hybrids tomorrow, 9/15/19. is anyone using the terry park ramp in heath? boat is pretty heavy, targa 18. I haven't been in over a year and drove to the ramp a week or so ago and the water looked pretty shallow there. is it deep enough for medium sized heavy boats right now?
edit, if unfamiliar with terry park, any other ramps that are easy loading right now? floating docks, etc?

Chandlers is perfect with a great dock but, it is $20.00 to launch.

thank you so much sir. chandlers it is then. 20 bux is a small price to pay for me to help avoid drama launching with my grandson onboard. (11 years old) . . . ive fished hubbard for 30+ years but ive only ever used the ramp in heath at terry park. and in much smaller boats (small bass boats and such). . . . . I drove down there a week ago to check out the ramp and it looked like a 3 1/2' to 4' step from their little piers to where I figure my front deck would sit.... ive got grandpaw knees at my age, and my wifes aren't much better. I haven't fished there in a year and a half (april 2018) but I figure I can fiddle around over by the powerplant jetty or at the mouth of rush creek and tie my lil dude into some white or maybe even a hybrid. again, thank you very much, pawpaw.

I launch my Champion there when I fish Hubbard (not often any more) and have no problems unless the lake is down more than a foot or 2. Whoever engineered those docks is an idiot. Hubbard never gets much over normal. It is more likely to be a little low. Shorter and longer is what they need to be.

Try to give him a turn at the wheel. My 11y.o. has been taking my 17’ whaler off and on the trailer for two years now. Started him in calm conditions and no other boats around—you’ll use up some patience too. Sure, he’s added to the character (scuffs and mild scrapes) of the hull. However, now that he’s got it down, it’s a huge help launching and landing.

I guess the new rules are all about safety. I was operating tiller model aluminum v bottoms by myself at 8 in northern Wis. Can't do that today without passing a class.
