What is up on Texoma? I heard the bait fish is really bad this year, is this true? I am taking my 85 year old grandpa this weekend and would like to get him on some! Thanks in advance...

I'm not sure what you mean by "the bait fish being bad" but there is currently a BUNCH of shad on Texoma. There was some sporadic schooling action around the Dam in the afternoon. The fish would hit any top water you threw at them while this was happening. The bigger fish really turned on Friday with the north wind. We caught all our overs trolling drop offs in 20-30 foot of water. Came back Saturday for a few hours and marked the fish again but couldn't get the big ones to bite. Only caught a couple 4-5 pounders. Good luck to y'all this weekend.

We have been catching them off of deep structure in 40-50’ of water using live bait. I always use my thumper vs drifting but see most boats drifting then spot locking on fish.
