Yeah, Butch if you bring your machete to a gun fight you’re going to lose most of the time.
If you’ve got the skills to determine that’s a BB gun your a bada$$.

You consider this a bad shooting? When someone's pointing a gun at an LEO, are they supposed to make sure it's a real gun before defending themselves?
Agree...swap places with the LEO and the result would probably be the same

I believe I have been on record that Arlington is an s hole and has been for a long time.
.. In defense of Arlington (worked the area for several years) I would say this area IS a [censored] hole. I think the good out weighs the bad. There are some nice areas in Arlington but like ALL towns/cities the bad areas make the headlines.

the machete was in reference to someone being in my house
with a gun

i don't blame him
wish the outcome was different though

Look at who said it.

Sawhorse, you have the exact same thoughts as I do about this. One thing I do know is that no one ever had to tell me that so like you, it either came hard wired or was just what we call common sense - things you just somehow know.
Not all people are like us though - especially the younger generations.

I remember a distributor sales rep guy I was riding with telling me about the big bruhaha he had with his 16 yo son about riding around with some kind of an airsoft replica of a freakin uzi under the front seat of his car and how easy that could get him killed by a cop if he were to be having it out during a traffic stop. I went ahead and used that as a teaching moment when I got back home to my kids to make sure none of their friends were being stupid like that and how easy it would be for people to die in those kind of circumstances. What is it they say, common sense ain’t so common these days.

I’m going to take up for Butch. What he’s saying it is bad that cops are having to shoot idiots in his town. I don’t think he’s saying the cop was wrong. (I think that’s what he’s saying after reading this whole thread). I (think) he’s saying shootings are bad in general. Or I may be drunk. bolt

Whether you think you can or you can't, you're right

Play stupid games win stupid prizes. Not sure how anyone can argue that they should not have shot a person pointing a weapon at them.

Butch is just saying that the fact people get shot is bad. I am sure we can all agree we dont like that people get shot. Its sad that it had to happen. Not that it did not have to happen. It did have to happen. But its still sad. Or in Butch speak "a bad shooting". He means regrettable. And of course it is.

Any questions?
