Not really... bc there will be 20 other boats in the same little area. Ideally find a decent location holding some fish, put trolling motor down and catch a few... then pray the ones you do catch are either 15.25-16 inches long or 24 inches or over.

I dont know who goes to something like this and plans to eat out.... Thats crazy talk...
Because we are from out of town and staying in a hotel? Do people in Iowa not eat out when they travel? Since Jeff doesn’t know anyone eating out during this weekend you should be fine. All our restaurants should be wide open! No waiting.

Ez, I’ve fished the Berkley before and I didn’t find it crowded at all. Are there more entrants in this one usually? Berkley pulls 1800-1900 Sealy event pulls about double that

I was surprised how few boats were on the water this weekend since next weekend is the Big Bass Splash. Yeah was out there Saturday and by noon the lake was almost empty and last Sunday it was empty I think I only saw ten boats all day. Lake hasn’t started to turn yet and fish are stacked in certain areas. There will be some nice fished brought in for those that have found em. Seems the timing was 10-2 with the full moon last weekend on my spot. Tried shallow but no luck but I also got out late around 9. They are getting finicky pretty fast after you catch few out of the group however. Had to switch up baits a bit to keep getting bit. I had planned another trip this weekend until I saw this thread.......I won’t be there. Good luck and be safe to those hitting it. This pic from two weeks ago looks like whites but they were all bass swimming under ducer on troll motor while sitting still. Caught several with the biggest around 8-9 that was over and accidentally snagged three popping a jig spoon off the bottom vertically under the boat.

I'm thinking 16 this year... Is it strange that 10 of the 24 were <8#? One of them was a 5#er.

There won't be any where near 24 overs this year.
