I was informed Im 3 weeks late in getting it down.

Will do tomorrow. I might be saved by the fact that we have had record high temperatures this September.

Not daily record highs... but the weatherman did say this was the first time in recorded history that we made it to the 15th of September with every day's High being 95 or greater. Uggggg

You got yours down yet?!

You’ll be fine as long as you get it put down this week

Sorry, my PSA was buried in a weather thread
Usually there’s a separate thread in the DIY section whenever it’s time

I put mine down on the first wave of the grackles just like Jedediah Schultz recommends in his timeless classic Weeding Hoes.

I got mine out a couple of weeks ago. I’m determined to have a weed free yard going into the spring and summer next year. Also put out grub worm killer. I’m determined that a grub worm will no longer feed on my grass.

I will put mine out the 1st or 2nd week of October, since winter weeds don’t terminate until close to November down here.

Any particular brand over another? I've got a new yard that was installed in May and it definitely has some weeds starting to show.

OK, so I'm relatively new to Texas. I'm reading these threads and want to keep my lawn in good shape.

What should I be putting down, how often, and where do I get it?

Please help a rookie out...I'm city folk so Lowe's and Scott's brand are all I really know. hammer

Neil Sperry says not to apply pre-emergents to a "new" lawn. Your lawn needs to have been through one winter before applying. That could be specific to North Texas, but just an FYI.

For cool-season annual grasses including annual bluegrass, rescuegrass and ryegrass, three common products are Dimension, Halts and Balan. For broadleafed weeds use something with Gallery pre-emergent granules in it.
