Haven't been on the water much this summer as it is too hot. Wondering about Fall fishing for crappie. I am supposing they are in a transitional pattern and hard to find. How do you experts fish for crappie once it starts getting cooler?

Not an expert but I just fish the same places mostly. I may fish shallower also but that is really the only difference. Once it frosts, I am in the creeks the rest of the winter.

Agree, this morning was nice but now it is pushing 96 and it looks that way for the rest of the week.

First requirement for fall fishing is FALL. Then just fish as usual except catch more and bigger fish.

I fish the same places as summer until the fish tell me different.

The umbrella has really made a difference this summer. I don't catch more fish but I sure do enjoy it more. Drops the temp at least 10*. Now that it is cooling off I'll be out there even more.

Even though it's been a long HOT summer I have not done all that bad on crappie. Been finding them under overhanging tree limbs in about 14 to 18 feet of water. Also found good numbers by bridge pillars holding tight to em in about 16 feet of water. Friends of mine have done great night fishing under the lights! thumb

Side Note: I do love fall fishing the best! hooked

Try fishing under a bridge. The shade really helps. The other option is fish after the sun goes down.

I love to fish the standing timber. The best time is Memorial day to Texas OU weekend.
