Where should I take my son around Waco for some fishing after Sealy big bass? He’s at Baylor so I’m planning to stop and see him Monday and it Tuesday. .

And does anyone have any leads or connection possibly on a pt job for him? He’s having a hard time finding a job. He has 3 years volunteer experience at our local animal shelter and almost 2 full years at Home Depot. He worked cashier. Lumber and garden. Home Depot does t seem to want pt. It takes a army to raise our kids figures it won’t hurt to ask. He is 18. Thanks for your consideration.

You can take him to Lake Waco but it's been a little slow.

As far as of jobs, have him apply at Do It Best in Hewitt. It's a great company with benefits and pay, even to pt workers. As long as he doesn't mind working in the heat during summer.

I went to Baylor for 6 years. I worked on campus for a year. That sucked. Haha. I then went to work at Jacks Stereo and loved it there. Is he tech savvy and sales savvy?

Fish the damed up section of the Brazos River right there in front of Baylor’s stadium & sports complex. Even flip boat stalls in the little lagoon/marina where the alumni have some boats moored.

Lake Waco wil do, they had a tuff man tournament where 30+ won last week. We have a friend that worked at Lowes part time but she had to go back to Dallas.

Wow, I didn't know there was a total of 30 pounds of bass in the whole lake. Good for the winners!

Thanks guys I would have never thought about fishing the river. Definitely going to try and make that work. Would be cool for him to catch some right there by his stadium.

Put in at McLennan County Community College ramp on the Bosque River just below Lake Waco dam and fish the Bosque out to the Brazos. You can also put in at two ramps in Brazos Park East across the river from Cameron Park right off N. MLK Blvd. One of my sons just graduated engineering school and ran track through college(NCAA College All-American, OK, brag over!) and through 4 seasons he ran several times at Baylor’s Clyde Heart Track & Field Stadium right across Baylor Basin(their little cove and marina) from the football stadium. During games or track meets there are always boats tied up along the shores “tailgating”. Flip lay downs on both rivers.

Tell him to apply to the computer lab in the business school. I used to work there part time in college and it was a super cushy job. Most of the time I just got paid to study. Every once and a while someone would need help or you would have to tidy things up.

(BTW the Baylor fishing team is looking for anglers. He should join)

I am really curious in what general area (NOT SPOTS!) people are consistently finding these kinds of bags on Waco.

I do well on Waco. I have caught multiple fish right under 8 and a bunch of 3-6's over the last several years. However, I am getting those (aggregate) results fishing many, many times across all 12 months of the year. I'm never experiencing finding 25 pound bags on a single day.

Granted, I am not claiming to be anywhere near the fisherman that these guys are. Far from it. But I am curious where (again, big picture, not talking about spots) those types of fish are congregating, especially this time of year.

Best I can guess is that these guys know how to locate and catch deep structure fish which is absolutely the opposite of my strongest techniques.
