I wish I could only change once per year. I have to change every 10k miles, which is on average, every 7-8 weeks.

As much as I drive, I figure I might as well pay up for full synthetic. I use Mobil 1.

Don’t know if this is still the case, or why it was/ is the case, but I’ve always been told that if you change to synthetic, you can’t go back to conventional

Have heard this plenty of times but I’m almost certain it’s a myth. Lubricant is lubricant, the only difference is synthetic lasts a little longer than conventional because it can withstand a little more heat. Had a friend who was convinced it would blow up a motor. I’ve gone back and forth several times and it never hurt a thing.

I recently switched to full synthetic from syn blend. I was driven to it by my dealer needing to make appointments 2 weeks in advance and they had to keep my truck 4-5 hours. Used to change at 5000 now I can’t find a consensus on how often to change the synthetic. I’m generally not one who lets the truck usage computer prompt me.

My new Toyota calls for full synthetic in 0W-16. Let's just say it ain't very common.

Change every 10K.

you can take full synthetic at least 7500 mi and 10k is acceptable if most of it is hiway (no dust etc). used to run valvoline synthetic in the ram, 10k was my normal change time. it had 187k on it when I traded and the 360 was runnin strong

And I thought 0W-20 was hard to find. Bet that oil is almost impossible to find.

Either full synthetic or regular. I dont believe the semi synthetic hype, either it is or it isnt.

Trust your own instinct. Your mistakes might as well be your own, instead of someone elses.

A friend who retired from GM said to put the Mobil synthetic in and run it 10,000 miles. That's what I've done on my last two trucks and have it changed at WalMart.

Yeah, they do. I'm still getting the "free" oil change now. WalMarx shows it in Mobil 1 for $23/5 qt container but I've never seen it. The 0W-20 is pretty common now.

The Walmart in Gun Barrel carries it in 0w-16 as stated above. They had plenty.

Sure they do. Considering every thing 80$ and change is a good deal for me 8 quarts full synthetic, filter, rotate tires and adjust air pressure and check all fluids. I am happy to kill an hour at dealer and not have to screw with it. A lot of dealer pricing is good IF you can find a GOOD service dept.
