Looking to target some grass carp in the DFW area. What lakes have good numbers of grass carp? Thanks.

Probably Purtis Creek State Park near Cedar Creek Lake. Haven't heard any reports from there in a while though.

Like Curt said, Purtis is the closest with the most Grass Carp. The permit for them there was pulled recently so you can harvest them or catch and release them, whichever you prefer. Keep in mind that since it's a state park you can only use rod and reel, I've seen people busted for using cast nets out there!

Catch and release. The dream - to catch one of every species of Freshwater fish in our great state! If only I can resist Carp...
