I have a friend wanting to bring his kid up from south Texas and catch eaters once it cools off a bit.

Do the blues get shallow in the fall like they do in the spring (big numbers)?I have caught fish shallow in the fall before but just not in big numbers. I would assume as long as the bait is shallow then there will be blues with them. I usually do too much deer hunting during the fall and not enough fishing, but this year might be different.

I'm not a hardcore blue fisherman but I would say yes you can catch them shallow in the fall. I think the blues are up in the shallow more than they are not up in the shallows. Usually starting in october I start catching them consistently up shallow.

You can catch em shallow or you can catch em mid depth. If you can find em shallow they are usually feeding good. We hammer em drifting the channel in 20-30ft. Best time of year for numbers while drifting. They really group up good and feed hard! You can catch 40-50-60 fish in a trip. Fish are feeding up for winter and there’s more than 1 pattern in the fall to fish. When the lake turns or mixes the fish will scatter For a few weeks and then it’s big fish season!

Finally gonna get our first cool front with rain this week which should really start to get em fired up! Wish the night time temps would get a little lower but looks like we’ll have to wait until October for that. Love this time of year when I can finally start fishing for more than a couple of hours! 🤘🤠🤘

Thanks amigo!! Man 3 year olds get sick a ton! School just started back up and he’s already been sick twice. We couldn’t fish last weekend cuz he had a dang ear infection from jumpin in the lake.

I caught blues in 2 feet of water today in tree lines. I would have caught more if my boat wasn't bobbing so much. Really windy today.
