It would be nice to see the mouth area. Either Diamondback Watersnake, as ChrisB stated, or Broadband Watersnake.
It's one of the good'uns, harmless fish and frog eater. And topwater chaser.

Good snakes should never be killed. I get tired of neighbors killing rat snakes and claiming they are water moccasins.
