Iā€™m looking for a new baitcasting wacky worm rod. Suggestions? Trying to stay at/under $150. Thanks.

Shimano Zodias medium worm/jig.

Actually just about any medium/fast will work. The hook set is almost a reel set. So the rod really just needs to be sensitive and somewhat flexible weight to keep the hook pinned while the drag stack does its work.

I use a medium Zodias and a Stella reel (spinning setup) on Athens a lot. It has no trouble bringing in 8+ plus fish, you just gotta let the reel do the work and have a good net man.

Iā€™m using a Falcon BuCoo 6ā€™8ā€ MH, really like it for weightless plastics.

I looked around and researched this a lot since weightless wacky rig is my favorite springtime bait. I ended up with a Phenix Feather 7'1" Med Light paired with a Daiwa Pixy reel. Casting distance is as good or better than a spinning reel and you get the feel and fish fighting ability of a bait caster. Thinking about upgrading the reel to a Daiwa JDM SV Light, but I'm not sure it would be that much of a performance upgrade over the Pixy.
