If I need to post this in a different forum please let me know but I have a question. I am very happy with my lead batteries as far as trolling motor and cranking are concerned. However my Humminbirds drain the cranking battery and I keep a LI jumper in the boat for when the cranking battery wont get me going. Not really thinking about switching the entire system but curious if anyone on here has added one just for running fish finders. Seems like a good compromise in my mind but just wanted to see if i am missing anything that would make this a bad idea. Thanks for any input.

Sounds like a good idea to me.

I put in a 125 ah ionic lithium battery. I used it for the first time Saturday to make sure it would start my motor etc. next is a full tournament day with everything running. Iām anxious to test it fully

Sounds like you need a better cranking/dual purpose battery. Electronics, accessories, pumps, all put a drain on that battery and at the end of the day you'll lack enough cca to crank up. Lots of guys get cranking batteries that barely meet minimum cca for their particular motor and they don't take into account added accessories, etc. If you have the money, just get an Odyssey 2150 and be done with it. You can run anything you want all day

I run all lithium, best thing I ever did and Ive done a long long list of mods to my boat, trailer, fishing gear etc.
I went with Relion, theyve been around a while that said there are a bunch of new to market lithiums that are a little bit cheaper.

I too went with RELION batteries for cranking and trolling and love them so far! A big pill to swallow up front but over 100lbs saved in weight and all the power I can handle....for days... Trolling motor battery: https://relionbattery.com/products/lithium/rb100Cranking battery: https://relionbattery.com/products/lithium/rb100-hpAlso with RELION you get a 5yr warranty and from everything I understand should last me well over a decade. If your interested then please use my referral code JASON05 and take 5% off your order. If you have further questions then PM me and I would be happy to discuss.

Jarrett, i had a look at that battery and it looks like to me it will be dead in 4-5 hours running 2 hummingbird Solix units. I may not be reading it correctly and also admittedly just becoming self educated on amp draw. The way I understand it if I have only the unit at the trolling motor on and turned everything else off it might work out. If you have a better understanding please share with me. The Solix draws 4.56 amps. If i know it would work I would do it, just dont want to drop another $400 chasing a solution which is why I have posted the original question.

Thank you, when I figure out how to send a pm i will. I have lots of questions. Not really worried about the weight and Never had any major issues with TM over the years. It is just the newer electronics and more of them on board that has begun to give me problems.

If you can run that battery down in 4-5 hours you're running a whole lot more than a couple solix units. We run 3 helix 12's, 2 poles, accessories and pumps on high for 8 hours and it turns over a v8 300 Merc pro xs no problem at the end of the day. It's what it's made for. But if you got the funds, go all lithium, including trolling motor batteries.

I got my lithiums from Josh Bussel on fb.
3600 total for 3 50ah, 100ah start, stealth charge on the run system.
I have since bought a lithium profile dual pro 30 amp charger and it is much faster on my start battery vs the standard agm charger stealth sent me that was much lighter and smaller but only 12 amps.
I thought it was money well spent I was going to buy big agm for tm at 400 plus each and the relion was only 535 ea, half the size less than half the weight and charge faster, discharge and work better. my tm used to be on 5 or 6 by the end of the day to move my boat the same as I did in the am on 2, now I am using .75 to 2 all day long. lithiums dont drop off and have less power like agm its a win win.
Ive never had my tm batteries under 39.2 volts after 10 to 11 hours. 8 hour iowa tourneys are often ALL tm as our lakes are small and no wake.

Iām anxious to test it fully I got the same battery for my electronics/starter. And then 3 of the 100ah for trolling. I love it because it has a bluetooth phone app so you can see the state of charge for every battery. I removed a set of Lithium Pros batteries (two 110ah and two 36v 40ah) because there as no easy way to tell the state of charge. They recommended a Victron battery guage but it will only show 1 battery.
